Unpacking from your move is just as strategic as packing for it. You need to assure that you are going to set yourself up for success in order to have an organized and successful (or stress free) move. Making sure that you make unpacking a priority, especially with a family to run, it will make your new life, location and home much easier to transition into.
First of all you need to schedule yourself some unpacking time. This may sound ridiculous to literally write it into your day planner, but it is an important element in the organized unpacker. Between your new job, the family and overall sanity it is tough to make time for this on your own.
Once you start your unpacking, your essentials box comes first and foremost to unpack. Why? Because of the reason you packed it! You know that you aren’t going to be able to unpack everything in one day, let alone one week—so unpack the box that you made for yourself to live your day to day: your essentials box.
After you have scheduled the time and now that you have it to dedicate to your project of making a house a home you should unpack one room at a time. This is a great way to fully pay attention to one area at a time to truly get it to a livable space.
