- Full-Valuation Protection: Coverage valued at $6 times the value of weight of your shipment. Rate depends on your deductible.
- Limited Liability Coverage: Free coverage that only protects you for 60 cents per pound per item.

To stay covered during your move, you need Exodus Moving & Storage. We are very proud that our damage ratio is among the lowest in the country. Less than 2% of our moves have any damage. The national average is 5%. BUT, we are not perfect and things do happen. We offer 2 options of coverage to protect you against these particular cases.
What is Moving Valuation?
It is a common misconception that a moving company will provide insurance, but that’s not the case. We provide moving valuation, which is a term in the moving industry used to determine the protection policy we provide. While you don’t get a policy, you do get coverage of your belongings during your move with moving valuation.
Our Types of Moving Valuation Coverage
We offer different levels of moving valuation to give you the coverage that fits your needs. These include:
- Full Replacement Value Protection (FRVP): Your shipment is valued at $6 times the weight of your shipment. We provide that amount for you based on how much we value your entire shipment at. You will have the option to declare a higher amount. You have four options, based on your deductible. We offer $0, $250, $500, and $1000 deductibles. With full value protection, you will receive a full replacement after your deductible has been met.
- Limited Liability Coverage: Your basic coverage will be valued at 60 cents per pound per article. As an example, if a 10-pound mirror was damaged during your move, we would provide a reimbursement of $6, no matter what the cost of the mirror was. We provide this option to you at no additional charge.
- Articles of Extraordinary Value: Before your move, we ask that you also fill out a form to declare any items of high value. Once listed, these items will be treated differently with their reimbursement being based on value and not weight.
