Local Moves versus Intrastate Moves versus Interstate Moves

Posted on

What are the differences and how will I know what type of move I need?

Local Move: A move that takes place within the same metro area, typically under 50–100 miles from the original location and within the same state.

Intrastate Move: A move that stays within the same state but covers a longer distance than a local move (usually over 100 miles).

Interstate Move: A move that crosses state lines, no matter the distance—even a few miles.
