Guide to Moving with Your Dog Or Cat!

Pet safety on moving day!

  • Make sure your furry friend is either in a crate or securely buckled in your car to ensure a smooth and safe move.
  • If your pet is nervous or scared, put their harness or collar on early so they know they are going with you.
  • Let them watch your pack so they see what is going on and are not confused by the changes.
  • On moving day, keep them somewhere safe, either in a quiet room, with a friend or family member, or at a trusted boarding facility.
  • Make sure your pets are wearing identification tags at all times.

Moving in hot weather

  • During hot weather, it’s essential to keep pets indoors in a cool room and provide plenty of fresh water.
  • Never leave your pet in a car without water and air conditioning. Even with the windows cracked, it can take just 6 minutes for them to overheat.
