Pet safety on moving day!
- Make sure your furry friend is either in a crate or securely buckled in your car to ensure a smooth and safe move.
- If your pet is nervous or scared, put their harness or collar on early so they know they are going with you.
- Let them watch your pack so they see what is going on and are not confused by the changes.
- On moving day, keep them somewhere safe, either in a quiet room, with a friend or family member, or at a trusted boarding facility.
- Make sure your pets are wearing identification tags at all times.

Important information
Moving in hot weather
- During hot weather, it’s essential to keep pets indoors in a cool room and provide plenty of fresh water.
- Never leave your pet in a car without water and air conditioning. Even with the windows cracked, it can take just 6 minutes for them to overheat.
Veterinary Care
- Contact your current vet to transfer records and get any necessary vaccinations or medications.
Research a new veterinarian in your new area and schedule an appointment to establish care.
