Spotlight on Realities For Children

It’s great being a kid, isn’t it? We all wish we could turn back the hands of time and relive our childhood, those carefree days where “responsibility” wasn’t a word within our vocabulary. The summers were filled with bike rides, sleepovers, trips to the lake, and so many great memories. As adults, we strive to provide our children with the same sort of lifestyle. We want them to experience all of the greatness childhood has to offer.

But not all children are as lucky. There are some who struggle on a daily basis to find normalcy and happiness amidst a world filled with violence, or those who have been neglected altogether, left to basically fend for themselves. There is an agency looking out for kids like these in Larimer County – Realities For Children – and they work tirelessly to ensure no child slips through the cracks of a broken system. Exodus supports this charity through donations, and we’d like to tell you a little more about them.

The Beginning

Can you imagine being a case manager with Larimer County Child Protective Services? This is arguably one of the toughest jobs there is, and it’s a job that Craig Secher, founder of Realities For Children, used to have for years. He was right there in the front lines, watching as child after child was failed by the system. What a helpless feeling – and he knew he had to do something about it.

If you are helpless to assist these troubled kids where you are, you just have to create a program that actually provides them with the help they need. Secher did just that, pulling together funding and devising services that would help these abused, neglected, and at-risk kids the system had left behind, and Realities For Children was born. There was one problem he discovered during the process of its design, a problem that had existed long before Secher picked up on it – other agencies existed to provide services and resources to these kids, but they were all in competition with one another. This led to gaps in what services kids could receive for any given agency.

Secher did what he knew was right, and worked to bring these agencies in alongside Realities For Children, rather than competing against them. The only way to do this was to assure that all costs and underwriting support for the services offered were underwritten privately. In this way, it wasn’t working to snag grants that other agencies were also applying for, putting them in direct competition. He also decided that every penny of money raised by Realities For Children would be made available to all of the agencies that worked with them and the children themselves.

His idea on this collaboration between agencies and services was nationally recognized for its innovation. It is one agency working alongside other agencies to provide the most comprehensive help possible, giving these kids a chance.

Award-Winning Charity

It is such a big part of the community, and has won numerous awards since it was created in 1996. In 2013, it won both the Charity of Choice from the Colorado Family Support Council and Charity of the Year from the Loveland Chamber of Commerce 2013 Awards. Etown and NPR awarded it the E-chievement Award in both 2010 and 2011, and in 2002, it received the Congressional National Leadership Award.

Realities For Children provides so much to these troubled kids. When no one else can help out with financial resources for even the most basic of needs, Realities For Children is there to offer emergency funding. In this way, those kids who would otherwise go without are taken care of. The charity supports a total of 25 various Affiliate Youth Agencies in the local area, sponsoring just about every fundraising event held within Larimer County that benefit abused, neglected, or at-risk children.

It’s more than just a helping hand. Realities For Children knows how important it is to educate the public about the help available to them should they ever need it, and it works hard to spread the word. Not only does it teach the community about everything local child abuse programs offer, it shows them how they are able to help these kids themselves in their community, whether through donations or volunteer work. They do this through four events designed to raise awareness – Realities Ride & Rally, the Awards Gala, Realities Cup, and NightLights.

All of this helps Realities for Children provide a multitude of activities centered around letting these kids do something they deserve the most – being kids. They’re able to socialize with others who they relate to, connect with adult mentors they can turn to in times of trouble, get exercise, and express themselves creatively through events such as movie nights, roller skating, bowling, holiday parties and events, and picnics to name a few.

Two Guys And A Truck To Help You Move

The benefit of having two guys and a truck help you move is incredible. It’s not often that you run into a company who offers this type of service, but when you do you know you found a gem in the rough. Full-service moving companies are pretty uncommon these days, well, compared to what they used to be. It used to be true that a lot of moving companies came with two guys and a truck to help you move.

These days, everybody thinks about U-Haul when they think about moving, which is great for certain occasions, but if you’re an individual it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to move without some help. Hiring a full service moving company is just one way that you can get around this whole endeavor and make it a great deal easier on yourself. Moving can be such a stressful thing, and it doesn’t need to be accentuated by a lack of help.

For anyone who’s wondering exactly what the guys do who come with the truck, think about them as your personal moving assistants. They are there to ensure that all of your belongings and up in the general vicinity that they are supposed to be in. This does not mean that you can tell them to move it a little bit to the left 12 times over, but it does mean that you can have them help you get that heavy couch into the room that is going to be your living room. There is a difference between moving slaves, and moving men and you are not going to find the former anywhere in the world.

So, think of them as your assistants for the day and have fun. Moving is a rigorous experience, but it’s also a fun one because of all the new experiences that you were going to have. Make the process of moving just one more experience. After all, nothing says entertaining quite like three people bumbling about a house trying to figure out where all of the belongings are supposed to go. It’s extraordinarily entertaining to watch, and even more fun to be a part of.

3 Great Things About Having a Moving Check List

There are some essential things that you should have when it comes to moving. First and foremost though should be you’re moving checklist. This is a list that you create that states which ruins have been cleared of which pieces of furniture or things you own. Not only does using something like this provide you with a meaningful way to ensure that everything is moved out, but you can keep track of which room still need to be emptied and how long you think it’s going to take.

Ensuring that you get everything out of a house when you move is one of the most difficult parts. There’s always that one thing that you leave behind hidden in that certain closet that you never look in. Having a moving checklist with every room and closet written on it ensures that you have everything put away in every room. Once you clear something out, all you do is check it off and you know that you don’t have to go back in there. It’s likely that you will, but it’s the peace of mind that it provides.

The second massive benefit that you get out of having a checklist like this is it not only can you ensure that everything’s put away, but you will know that every single room has been emptied once all the check marks are crossed out. The only way you could possibly not have emptied something out if you get every room, is by lying to yourself and crossing something off prematurely. Obviously that’s something that you’re going to try to avoid considering you want to get everything out of your home, but even still this provides you with a way to ensure that everything has been cleared out of every room.

The third and final benefit that you get out of having a checklist that says what you have and have not moved out is you can kind of estimate how long it’s going to take to empty the remaining rooms. You can do this by judging the rooms that you have moved out previously and the amount of things that have been located inside of them. Sure, it’s likely that you could get a general estimate on what is going to be required without the list, but if you write down how long it took you to get a certain room done, that allows you to ensure that you can be on time and ready for the movers to help you get yourself out of your current home.

The Benefit That Comes Along With Two Guys and a Truck

If you have ever driven a motor home, or a very long moving truck, you know that these vehicle’s can be extremely cumbersome. This is especially true if you’re driving it through the city. City streets are already very narrow, which doesn’t leave much room for error. Especially if you’re not used to driving such a very large vehicle. If you drive a hummer on a daily basis, you might be OK, otherwise the benefit of having two guys and a truck do the work for you is quite obvious.

OK, so let’s assume that you made the drive through the inner city and have made it two an apartment, and for argument’s sake let’s say that you’re moving in a college student. These apartments tend to be extraordinarily small and located in areas that are generally older. Now you have the problem that unless you have a large group of people to help you, it’s going to be one heck of a time getting those larger objects into the home. Welcome to the second benefit of having two guys and a truck to help you move.

Providing you with the muscle that is needed in order to move something extraordinary lee heavy, moving companies like us like to show you the benefit of having a few extra hands to help. In this case, using our full service moving to your benefit. Would you ever try to move a couch that’s 5 feet long and weighs about 70 pounds up two flights of stairs? No, you wouldn’t because that’s just foolish. Or maybe you would, but in that case you’ll probably end up buying a new couch.

Trust us, take the cheaper route and just hire us to help you move these were really heavy items into the home. We’ll help you pick them up, we’ll help you drive them through the inner city where it’s going to be very small, and we’ll help you get them into the apartment. Seriously we cannot make this anymore obvious. There so many benefits to hiring a moving company that we just can’t name them all. So before you go trying to move that really heavy object, think about this blog first. You’ll probably save yourself a lot of headaches.

The Most Important Thing to Know About Furniture Movers

There are quite a few businesses who consider themselves to be furniture movers. People who specify themselves as movers of large objects, particularly things that are heavy. If there’s one thing that you should know about people who specialize themselves in heavy lifting and moving like this, it’s that not all heavy movers are created equal.

Full service moving companies, or furniture movers as some people refer to them, are companies who understand the dynamics of carrying heavy objects and want to do this strenuous task for you. Yes, we are one of these people, but not all of us are created equal. Some movers don’t have the understanding that goes along with moving tricky objects.

Let’s take couches for example. Couches are one of the most difficult things to move not only because of their weight, but because they possess legs usually on the bottom that are not removable. These legs, and short as they may be, can still get caught on a lot of things and get damaged in the move. Not only that, but if the movers do not have the proper methods of moving the couch, it can actually cause injury. If you’re going to move a large couch and a small apartment and it happens that the department has a very small corridor as well in order to move it, it’s likely that they will get caught considering how small it is.

So, before you hire a moving company who considers themselves to be “furniture movers,” do a little bit of research first. See what other people have said about them and if they are able to handle those really heavy objects. This is something great that the Internet has given us these days. The ability to look up if a company can hold up to their own standards. People are now able to rate moving companies online, and if you’re searching at all for any ratings it’s likely that you’ll run into quite the extensive list.

If the Internet isn’t your thing, you can always call up the company that you have interest in. Speaking with an actual person gives more information than can be gleaned from the web, especially considering that reviews tend to be biased. So consider this. Any dummy can lift a couch, but it takes knowledge and skill to move one without damaging anything. Find that right company, and then let them help you. Don’t do it the other way around.

3 Things You Should Know About A Moving Checklist

There are couple of things you should realize about having a moving checklist if you decide to move homes. Everyone is organized differently and not everyone realizes exactly everything that they have in every room. This is why I have come up with these three things to know about a checklist

First and foremost is that your checklist should be organized in a manner which makes sense to you. People will tell you that you should have a specific number of things on each list and that the list should in itself contain almost everything you own. I believe however that this is not true. Organize your latest in whatever manner suits you best. If you are someone who does a lot better with lists that are not all inclusive, just go room to room. You can only cross something off the list in this case if the room is completely empty. An easy way to organize no?

Secondly, your checklist should be written as to be able to be glanced at. A moving checklist is not a novel to be read over and over. It’s likely that you’ll want to just look down at it, realize that something is not done, and then move on. So the best thing for you to do to make a “glanceable”  is make the writing large enough to be able to see from about 2 ½ feet away. This will allow you to look down into your hand and see clearly what you have done and what is still missing.

Finally, your checklist should be written in a manner that is reversible. Once you’ve moved all the things out of your home, into the truck, and then are required to move them back into your new place having your latest available and ready to check off again can be of great benefit. You will realize what still on the truck, what’s missing from the truck, and if you didn’t find it on that rockets likely that you accidentally left it back of your old home. Now, here’s hoping you don’t leave anything behind in that you accidentally crossed something off that wasn’t picked up, but this is one way that you can see if something is missing.

Overall, checklists allow you to be is organized as possible while still retaining the freedom of moving. There is a certain feeling that comes with moving as though you are moving on with your life. This may seem obvious to you, but the feeling is not something you’ve likely felt before. Its somber sometimes to leave things behind to which you become so accustomed. Having a list just makes it so that you can move on that much easier.

The Technical Issues That Can Arise From Movers in Greeley

If there’s one place that could benefit from you hiring movers, it’s Greeley. Greeley as a town is much more agricultural than it is technical. A lot of people who live here are based around the agriculture that is produced particularly in the cattle industry. There are a few moving companies here in there who are willing to help you get your stuff in your new place, but their likely going to be more focused on moving heavy machinery than they are moving your stuff into your new place.

Now hold on a second, I don’t mean to set up a stereotype stating that all people who live in Greeley are cow farmers. No, all I’m willing the state is that the moving companies who reside in this general area are very accustomed to people who have heavy machinery needs. If you happen to be a student who is moving into a new apartment from out of state, that would be the best time to call us.

We offer a full moving service and we can be exceptionally helpful, especially if you’re someone who’s from out of state and you don’t know anyone in here who has a truck. It’s an easy assumption to make that an out of state student wouldn’t have many people who they know here. UNC is a fairly big school and gets a lot of notoriety these days. It may not be quite as large as CSU, or CU, but it’s growing rapidly. This is also true of the town of Greeley itself.

Traditionally people have thought of it is simply a former style and but over the years it has grown substantially. As stated above, it’s still really receives a lot of its income and people based around its agricultural lifestyle, but the town is modernizing quite a bit as is the school. So when it comes to hiring movers, Greeley Colorado may have quite a few options, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to be limited to the people who are in town. After all, some of the best competition can be found very close. All you have to do is look and compare prices.

Moving to Loveland Through Movers Who Are Close

So, let’s say that you don’t want to move to the hustle and bustle of Ft Collins, but you have your heart set on moving to the northern section of Colorado. There are a few towns in the area close to Ft Collins, but none resembles the city more than Loveland. Moving to Loveland is an option that you have if you want to stay in the beautiful Northern Colorado that is close to the mountains but don’t want the huge amount of college students around you.

Usually, this is one of the biggest reasons people move to Loveland other than a job. They work in Ft Collins sometimes but don’t want to be bothered by the mass number of college students who fluctuate through the town throughout the year. Who could blame them to be honest, college students can be very rowdy and tend to stay up all hours of the evening. Being a previous college student myself, I can assure you this is the truth.

However, moving to Loveland means that you have the beautiful scenery that you have been looking for as well as the quiet that can be found in a town that is not a college town. One of your biggest hurdles in Laughlin though is finding a home. Even in Loveland Colorado, movers may be very popular but that’s because there are so many homes that are purchased instantly once they go on the market. Its truth that at the moment some homes that are within the 100,000 range to 300,000 range are selling within 24 hours of their posting on the internet.

Real estate agents can’t keep homes long enough to sell them. However, if you already have a home and you just need a moving company, welcome to the company for you. We’re a full service moving company and we will help you get into that home that you’ve purchased as quickly as possible. Loveland is a beautiful town and it’s a great choice to move to. It’s very pretty during the summer and very green. During the winter, it tends to have snow like the rest of Colorado, though being in the northern half we do tend to receive a little bit more. All in all though it’s a beautiful place to move to and a good choice.

If you require a moving company, Ft Collins can provide you with one of the best in the business. Stacked Moving BoxesMost of the time when people are moving to Ft Collins, it’s because they’re either going to be attending school or because they are moving for job. No matter which case is yours, this puts you on a time constraint. We want you do get through this time constraint and be plenty and head of time in order to set everything up so that you don’t have to spend your weekends for the next couple of weeks moving. You can move things around your home, but you don’t have to worry about moving them out of a truck.

For some movers, Ft Collins, CO maybe their stomping grounds, but that does not mean that they are the sole competition. We ask that you look at all the competition and compare quotes. You wouldn’t be a smart shopper if you didn’t. You should always have more than one option to fall back on especially when it comes to moving. Plus, comparing quotes means that you can discuss with the company a quote that’s a better price and see if they can match it if you have your heart set.

Most companies will match prices of quotes so long as you can provide that they are legitimate. It’s just like shopping at a grocery store. Sure you can get the price to come down, but you must show a coupon or receipt to do so.
