Donation to The Fairy Godmother Project

MP900444293Being active in the community is not just a common practice with Exodus Moving and Storage, it’s a passion. We put in time, effort and resources when and wherever we can and it is truly our delight to see the positive impact that we can make in the lives of those around us. Giving is a shared experience that benefits those giving and receiving. And as a leader in our industry, we strive to lead by example, putting our energy towards showing other businesses that we can make a difference by working together.
Last week we had the pleasure to participate once again in an annual event called the Fairy Godmother Project. With the careful organization this year on the part of Dee Valdez, this national phenomenon has once again found a home here in Colorado and we have been very proud to support its worthwhile efforts.

What is the Fairy Godmother Project?
The Fairy Godmother Project is a donation based annual boutique that gives economically disadvantaged teenagers who cannot afford expensive Prom and other formal event attire the opportunity to receive help. Various states participate in this drive and several collection points are set up throughout a city and then consolidated and showcased for selection. VIP teens can be nominated for special consideration and then the boutique opens to the public and survives completely on a “pay what you can” basis. The boutique in Loveland usually runs several hours per day throughout Prom season and is able to help hundreds of high school students from Northern Colorado and beyond. Including information on acne treatment, makeup and hair tips as well as other helpful additions for teens, this spring time event is a great way to support students during what could otherwise be a very insecure season in their lives.
Happy to have been storing dresses of all colors and sizes in one of our state of the art storage facilities, Exodus has donated both space and time to this worthwhile event and we are honored to contribute to its ultimate success.

Exodus is Proud to be a “Choose People” Company

In 2007 Kris Boesch began to dream up a way to highlight companies who take good care of their employees. As a long time mover and shaker in the business world, she had come to excel at the fine art of employee retention, fearlessly leading by example as the CEO of our company. With an innate understanding of what it took to keep those whom she employed happy and a desire to showcase other companies that also made their people their number one priority, she set forth to create the organization Choose People.

What is Choose People

From the beginning, Kris understood that the ultimate success of a company was the result of a very simple system of giving. With so much competition in the marketplace, consumers favor companies that take good care of them- providing superior products and superior customer service. It seemed logical that superior customer service comes from employees that have a positive outlook on where they work and ultimately on their lives in general. So the key to happy customers is happy employees. Positive Work Environment= Happy Employees, Happy Employees= Well Serviced Customers, Well Serviced Customers= a Successful Company.

A national certification to recognize businesses that treat their employees well, Choose People measures how happy employees are in their workplace based on researched criteria. Identifying factors like how safe employees feel and how much feedback they get about their work ultimately gives a view on how likely they are to remain with the company. This qualitative designation serves as a symbol for what is most unique and important within an organization, its human capital.

Choose People Criteria

After over 1000 hours of professional research including the creation of a test referred to as an EOP survey ( Employee Organizational Perceptions) administered to 1000 employees in 18 different organizations, enough information was collected to create a system by which Choose People evaluates companies for potential certification. The final EOP survey includes 8 subscales and 52 items which allows Choose People to procure a candid window into a company’s employee’s everyday experiences, attitudes and ultimate perspective about their working lives.

Why Choose People?

CB039055In our post earlier this week we were excited to announce one of our newest national certifications indicating the values we strive to uphold here at Exodus. Being Choose People certified means that we have been tested in 8 different categories in an effort to quantify how we treat our employees. By receiving this honor, we are proud to be recognized as a place where employees thrive and are happy to come to work. As an organization with one of the lowest employee turnovers in our industry in the whole country, we are excited that those who work for us feel like family.

Who Needs Choose People

Choose People has created their national certification program to benefit all parts of the business cycle including companies, employees and consumers. By impacting all human capital in this cycle, the positive effect on the community is a natural result.  But who specifically should be interested in working with Choose People? The list starts at the very highest level and ends with the most basic user.

Investors & Business Leaders- Those looking to put their money into the development of a company will select a company over its competition that keeps its employees happy and has low employee turnover. Generally a place with happy, productive employees also provides a solid and positive bottom line.

Marketers- It is well known that leveraging your human capitol and the positive work environment can bring strength to a brand. When marketers are highlighting what separates one company from the next, this certification can be a valued addition.

HR Departments & Employees- Employee retention makes human resources more about enriching the lives of its current employees and less about hiring new ones. Choose People certification can increase moral and a sense of company pride. Conversely, when it does come time to hire new employees, this certification can aid in recruitment by serving as a sign to good people that good jobs are available in a good company.

Consumers- Choose People certification gives conscientious consumers the ability to reward companies that care about their employees. By using their buying power to support these organizations, the public can contribute to general positivity in the community at large.header_logo

A Little Thanks

At Exodus we are high on the tide of thankfulness during this season of giving. Its important to us that we not only show gratitude to our community but also to our employees. As a local business with national capabilities, we understand that it is the people involved that make our every day special. In asking our employees what they were most thankful for during this time of year we found ourselves grateful for their responses.

I am thankful for my husband, my children and my faith.  I am thankful for a warm home, enough to eat and clothes to wear.  I am thankful to work for Exodus – a company founded on honesty, integrity and hard work. ~Lisa

Being a part of this company makes me realize what a work family is really all about. I am thankful to all of you! ~Joel

Your voice is extremely important to us and we hope that we have created and maintained a place where your voice can be heard.  We want to stay connected! Tis The Season to Come Together

At Exodus what matters most to us YOU! When we say YOU we really do mean you. You don’t have to be someone needing assistance in moving or help acquiring a storage unity, you are important to us because we are all a part of the same community.

We value our community in Northern Colorado more than a lot of moving companies you will find. Here at Exodus, we make the public our top priority in doing business. We also work hard to build and maintain a reputation that is admirable for the Northern Colorado community and we hope to live up to all the expectations that we have set for ourselves.

We also support locally owned businesses and events that are taking place in Northern Colorado and will do our best to help you out. Let us know how we can help spread the word about your business, organization, and charity by following us on Twitter @ExodusMoving.

Exodus often contributes to non-profit organizations by donating our white glove moving services. Now more than ever, we encourage you this Holiday Season to give back to your community. Wherever you are, whatever you do, you can help someone or something in such a small way that makes such a big difference!

Let’s put it this way, you scratch our back and we’ll scratch yours. Let’s work hand in hand this Holiday Season and even ring in the year 2010 by supporting local businesses, organization, charities.

“We can begin by doing small things at the local level, like planting community gardens or looking out for neighbors. That is how change takes place in living systems, not from above but from within, from many local actions occurring simultaneously”

Sing Us a A Song, You’re the Piano Man

You wouldn’t trust just anyone with your most prized belongings would you? Neither would we. That’s why you have to be very careful when choosing your expert movers, especially when they are handling your most prized possessions. Not only do we want to protect your belongings but your home is equally important to us, with our expert moving team we can maneuver your belongings without damaging walls, doors, frames, or our backs. We have a team that specializes in moving your large, heavy, awkward pieces like your piano, hot tubs and gun safes. Our moving team at Exodus understands how to properly move your things while keeping the conditions of your home intact. We are sure that you have heard horror stories about moves that ended badly. Don’t let your already stressful move become a moving horror story because you choose a mover who does not specialize in moving large awkwardly shaped objects. We provide safe, efficient, reliable, trustworthy service that will not let you down. Trust us, go with Exodus. We promise to get your piano to your new destination safely if you promise to play us a song from your piano, in your new home.

Valuing Feedback
