Breathe out! Smiley face!

The day after moving usually has most people breathing a big sigh of relief. The moving truck made it to the new location and Exodus has unloaded boxes into the correct rooms of your new home. You’re satisfied with the movers. Moving to Colorado is either a lovely new experience or is but a distant memory.

Unlike many moving companies in Colorado, our local sensibilities and global abilities always have us totally focused on your experience as our customer. We realize a move can be overwhelming even when it is mostly completed. We empathize with this even when our part is officially concluded.

Use our “After Your Move” relocation Checklist to bring the experience to a remarkably relaxed ending.

After Your Move To-Do Checklist.

Clean house.

Moving day is also a great opportunity to make sure your new home is spotlessly clean. We understand it is more work on the front end, but it will save you time later when you don’t have to move furniture in order to clean corners and other hard-to-reach spots. A good vacuum, mop, and dusting can make your new home feel both inspirational and welcoming.

Check outlets.

Make sure outlets exist where you wish to plug in appliances and electronics, and if they don’t, move them elsewhere or purchase the proper extension cords.

Handle with care.

Gently unpack china and other fragile items. Being in a hurry to complete this task can often lead to breakage of valuable items.

Install your phone.

Feeling connected to the ones you miss and love is an important part of transitioning into your new location. Make sure to hook up your phone asap.

Have some fun.

Do something to make yourself feel at home in your new place. Perhaps consider hosting a house-warming party and invite your new neighbors. This will give you something to look and work forward to and will expand your social circle in your new location.

Exodus will check in.

A member of the Exodus team will be calling within 30 days of your move day to learn how you liked our service. We are always looking for ways to improve, so please don’t hesitate to mention anything that we could do better.

Where do I Get Packing Supplies?

From belts to bubble wrap to dollies, moving blankets, moving boxes, and totes, there’s a lot of packing supplies needed for a safe move. Be sure to start getting these items together early on if you are packing yourself.
First, check to see if your friends and family have any supplies left over from a recent move. After this, check in with your movers. They typically will sell all of the packing supplies you could need at a great price.
