Moving While Pregnant: Some Tips

If you’ve just found out that you have to move, and you’re many months pregnant, you may be wondering how it’s all possible. After all, moving requires some effort, and you may not have a ton of energy right now. Is there any way that you can make the move easier on yourself and your body? Here are some tips from our Boulder movers.

Move as early in your pregnancy as possible. Moving at eight or nine months is really hard to do, so plan a move as early as you can if it’s feasible.

Find a moving company that offers full services like packing, assembling furniture, and other services that will make your life much simpler during the move.

Be careful not to strain yourself. Leave the heavy lifting for the Loveland movers that you have hired, and just pack the light things. If you feel tired or overly worked, just sit down and relax, or take a quick nap. The key is to listen to your body as much as possible, so that you know when you’ve had too much.

Stay hydrated. Whether you’re moving during the winter or summer months, your body needs lots of fluids right now. Keep hydrated as much as possible.

Leave the unpacking for later. You don’t have to unpack your stuff right after you move, and all of those things can wait until after the baby is born — you can even set up a makeshift nursery. Kids are resilient, so don’t worry about not having the perfect nursery space.

Put the things that you need right away in a safe spot. You may want to keep your personal items and the things that you will need for the baby in an easily accessible space. This way, you don’t have to wade through boxes and packing foam to try and find what you need.

Take the help that’s offered. Now is not the time to try and do it all on your own. If your friends want to help out, let them.

Ask your friends to help you pack. You can turn any packing day into a packing party, and invite all of your friends over to help you pack up all of your things. Not only is this a fun way to pack, it’s also an easy way to get everything where it needs to go.
