Involvement in Community Realities
Anyone who is involved in their local community can tell you that the well being of children should be irreplaceable focus in any urban development. When it is said that the children are our future, at Exodus, we believe it whole heartedly. And when it comes to improving the conditions that surround these infinite bundles of potential, we are very happy to put our money and our work where our mouth is.
Recently, we were pleased to participate in a Realities for Children fundraising event. We donated our moving services to support their Four Deuces Event. Exodus moving crews moved the poker tables and other items to both set up and tear down the festivities. We are proud to be supporting contributors to this event for Realities for Children and also to continue our annual donation to their Bikes for Tykes drive because we very much believe in what they do.
What is Realities for Children?
A charitable organization and certified non profit 501(c)3, Realities for Children was originally established in 1995. Created for the purpose of raising funds and offering much needed services to abused and neglected children in Larimer County, this Colorado based charity helps over 15 local children’s agencies accomplishing its main goal of supporting the most vulnerable and disenfranchised members of the community, it children. Because of its unique partner sponsored approach to fund raising, Realities for Children boasts an active membership of over 140 local businesses such as Exodus Moving and Storage, and is as a result able to use 100% of all its fundraising for the direct benefit of at risk youth.
Four Deuces Event
One of the most impacting awards created by Realities for Children is the Triumph Awards. This endowment fund partners with the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado to offer mentorship programs and award scholarships to abused youth giving them the opportunity and means to rise above their current circumstances. The Fort Collins Series of Poker is the longest running charity poker event in all of Colorado and has been nationally recognized by the World Series of Poker. Along with the Four Deuces Charity Event, it gives amateur players the opportunity to go up against world class professionals for the fun, the thrill and most importantly, for the children. These efforts have been raising awareness and funds and positively impacting the lives of the youth in the community who need it the most.
This years Triumph Awards are taking place this Friday, April 15th. For more information http://www.triumphawards.com/
