The Most Festive Holiday Towns
Some people go all out when the holiday season arrives, and some whole towns get into the holiday spirit too. If you’re the type that likes to play holiday light schemes in June, these are the towns that you should move to!
-The Inn at Christmas Place in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee: while you can’t move to this inn, you can stop here on your way to your new destination. This inn isn’t called ‘The Inn at Christmas Place’ for nothing — the whole inn was created and modeled after Christmas, and Christmas is what you’ll get when you stop by this inn. Trees, trimmings, and all.
-Solvang, California: Solvang was settled by Danish immigrants during the 1900s, and today the town is the picture-perfect image of what Christmas in a quaint Danish town should look like. On the day of the Winter Solstice, there are many festivities including a colorful parade.
-Santa Claus, Indiana: Need we say more? This town wasn’t named ‘Santa Claus’ for nothing! Santa Claus calls itself “America’s Christmas Town,” and the whole town gets in on the festivities. If you really love Christmas, call your Boulder movers and pack your bags for Santa Claus, Indiana!
-New York City: If you’ve never seen New York City during the holidays, you have to check it out this year. The whole city is a glow with lights, festivities, parades, and shows — plus, you can get in on the famous NYE action if you happen to be in Times Square on the 31st of December!
-Durango, Colorado: If you have kids, you’ll want to live in Durango, where a real train pulls kids in PJs on the ‘Polar Express’ ride. The town itself just happens to lend itself to the holiday spirit too with plenty of snow, lights, and cozy nooks and crannies that you can just melt into on a cold day.
-Woodstock, VT: The annual holiday parade that happens in Woodstock is enough to get anyone in the Christmas spirit. The parade includes more than 50 horses and carriages, and the town turns back time to create an old-fashioned Christmas scene.
-Disneyworld: You can’t live at Disney World, but you can visit this magical theme park during the holidays to see what Disney does when it comes to holiday cheer. Lights, festivities, fireworks — it’s a Disney Christmas!
-New Orleans: every year, the whole town gets together in New Orleans to sing Christmas Carols in front of the cathedral — it’s hard to think of a more festive scene.
