Once you’ve decided that a DITY military move is right for you, there are a few steps that you’ll need to take in order for it to go as smoothly as possible.
Call your PTO.
Contact your local Personal Property Transportation Office (PTO) for details and paperwork about DITY moves.
Contact Exodus.
Make arrangements with a rental company or a moving company. For details about how Exodus can help you make your move both stress-free and affordable.
Get your advance.
Proceed with the move, and make sure to pick up your operating cost advance from the dispersal office. This may be up to 60% of the total amount.
Complete your move.
If you’ve hired Exodus then you can be sure this will be smooth and easy.
Get reimbursed.
Once you’ve arrived, send in all your paperwork in for reimbursement. You will have 45 days to send in your paperwork. Exodus will supply you with all the weight receipts that you need to get the full reimbursement due to you.
