What to Find When You're New In Town…

When you are relocating, whether a residential relocation or office relocation, you need to know where some important places are right when you get there. These spots are the types of places we might forget to look up until it is urgent that you go there. We’ve created a list of important places that you need to know where they are, and how to get there, once you relocate to your new area.

School(s) – depending on the age of your kids, or yourself, you’ll need to look at elementary school, middle school, high school, college, vocational, trade, etc.

Grocery Store – One easy way to do this is by looking around and paying attention to the places near your home. You can also do a Google search and find the stores that are closest to you.

Shopping Malls/Outlets – This is a location you don’t need to know ASAP, but will be a place you’ll want to know about in the near future. Asking locals about where the best places to shop are, is one of the best ways to find a good shopping mall.

Parks and Walking Trails – Once you get settled, you’re going to want to get outside and experience the surrounding areas to your new home. Find parks and walking trails that are near you for daily exercise and family outings.

Gym/Recreation Center – When it’s cold, you won’t want to get your exercise outside, so make sure you know where the closest gym and/or recreation center is. Since what kind of work out classes they have, you might meet some new friends!

Moving Theater/Moving Rental Store –We all love entertainment. So make sure you find your local video store and Movie Theater.

Hospital – This is a place you want to know where it is the same week you move in, if not before you move. You never know what could happen, but being prepared will help any situation.

Veterinarian and Pet Store –If you have a pet, you’ll want to know where the closest vet is, and maybe where the closest 24 hour emergency pet hospital is. Again, it’s better to be prepared.

Post Office –If you still using snail mail, you’ll want to know where to go to send packages, buy stamps, and pick up gifts sent from relatives.

Gas Station –This will be an easy one to find, just look around as you are driving within your neighborhood!

Library –You might find a great library inside of your school, or you might need to find a new one. Either way, make sure you know where you’re going when you want to start a new novel and learn a new language.

We hope that your relocation goes smoothly. This list along with a moving list and moving check list will help you have an easy move. And if you want Peace of Mind, hire us, we’ll bring you peace of mind all in one piece. J
